The first international awareness day for Hereditary Angioedema (HAE), hae day :-), on Wednesday May 16 2012 is just two months away.

You can track the countdown live using the ticker on haeday.org, while the hae day :-) Facebook page and Twitter profile will recognize landmark dates as May 16 approaches.

There is still plenty of time to get involved with raising awareness of HAE around the world. Some of the simplest activities include sending a smile, making a donation to support HAEi national member organizations and sharing details of planned events on an interactive map.

In addition, a new set of resources to help our member organizations make the most of hae day :-) is now live. The guide aims to assist members with campaigns and local awareness activity while recognizing that countries have differing levels of need.

The objective of hae day :-) is to raise awareness of Hereditary Angioedema among the general public and medical community, with the aim of creating an environment in which there is better care, earlier and more accurate diagnosis and knowledge that HAE patients can lead a healthy life.
